9th – 13th July 2018

On 9th – 13th July 2018, participants of the APPLE project took part in the master classes hosted by Sorbonne Université in Paris. The master classes were organized by Dr. Dmitri Galayko and his team and took place at Laboratoire d’Informatique de Paris 6.

On the first day of the master classes, the participants were welcomed; representatives of the Sorbonne University gave a general presentation about the university, which was followed by curricula presentation on “Celestial mechanics for space mission design, lecture and practical work with Scilab”. The second day of master classes was dedicated to presentation of the Nanosatelite Meteorix project and curricula presentation on “Industrial CAD tools for microelectronics” in the form of lectures and laboratory works; lectures on “Lecture and Microelectronics: design of mixed signal integrated circuits” and “Concurrent engineering methodology for small space mission desgin with use of free CAD tools developed by CNES” were conducted as well. Selected research and educational projects of Sorbonne Université were presented during master classes in details.

Master classes were accompanied by an extensive cultural program. The participants, for instance, had a chance to visit Observatoire de Paris in the evening, Musée des Arts et Metiers and LATMOS Laboratory

(Laboratory of Atmospheres).

A consortium meeting took place during master-classes, which was carried out by ECM Space Technologies representatives. The meeting tackled administrative issues; recommendations for preparation for the Scientific Conference in Riga on 6-7 September 2018 were also given to the partner universities’ representatives.

All participants have given excellent reviews of the master classes and express their gratitude to the partners of the Sorbonne Université for the perfect organization.
